CyberCoders is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join our New York City engineering team. This highly technical, hands‑on role focuses on building scalable data systems and owning architecture from end to end.

You will work across data engineering, software development, and AI/ML applications. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in software engineering, extensive experience with Python/SQL, and a track record delivering production data platforms in fast‑paced environments.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing production data systems.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals.
• Experience with data modeling and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to own architecture from concept to production.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a technical field.
• Experience in startup or fast‑growing tech environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, production‑grade data systems and pipelines.
• Develop systems for ingesting, processing, and organizing large and complex datasets.
• Build backend services, APIs, integrations, and internal data tooling.
• Own major technical initiatives from architecture through production.
• Design data models and infrastructure that support data‑intensive applications.
• Make technical decisions around storage, orchestration, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Build reusable tools and systems that improve engineering efficiency.
• Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to solve complex technical problems.
• Establish engineering standards, architecture patterns, and best practices.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining hands‑on.
