Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Staff Accountant in Huntington Beach to support full-cycle payroll across multiple locations, ensure accuracy of timecards, and manage benefits enrollments and deductions. The role covers month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations in a fast-paced environment.

Strong GAAP knowledge and California wage/hour compliance are required, with 2+ years in accounting/payroll and a related Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in accounting/payroll supporting multiple locations.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and California wage/hour compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or food and beverage.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for multiple locations and verify timecards.
• Manage benefits and deductions, enrollments, and life events.
• Prepare month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, audits and controls.
