Job summary

EnergyWorks in Fayetteville, AR, is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage monthly journal entries, AP/AR, and revenue checks for non-operated assets. You will support financial statements, respond to owner inquiries, and handle special projects with accuracy and timeliness.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to GAAP and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
  • Proficiency with computer software including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent time management and ability to multitask.
  • Work independently and follow standardized procedures.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis.
  • Code and process invoices in A/P software.
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Process non-operated cash receipts in Quorum/ODA Revenue module.
  • Record and support the Owner Relations portal inquiries.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues, management, clients.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety rules.

Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for creating timely and accurate entries for non-operated revenue checks, financial statements, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, responding to owner inquiries and accurately performing special departmental projects as assigned. This position is based in Fayetteville, AR.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to Department manager
  • Interacts as required with other division office personnel and staff
  • Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis
  • Code and process invoices as needed in A/P software
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Process non-operated cash receipts in Quorum/ODA’s Revenue module
  • Record and provide support to the Owner Relations portal (answer a wide variety of customer service questions)
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
  • Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments
  • Ability to use a computer and possess an understanding of computer software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on many different projects at one time
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision

Physical Demands
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently and frequently moving small objects.
  • Frequently sitting for long periods of time
  • Walking or standing occasionally
  • This position works mostly indoors; going outdoors may be frequently required
  • Must have manual use of hands and vision to use computer constantly
