Job summary

Divers-Alert-Network in Durham, NC is seeking a Finance Specialist to manage daily bank deposits, Acumatica batch work, AR collections, and GL reconciliations. Hybrid role with three in-office days per week, reporting to the CFO.

The role requires an accounting/finance degree, Excel proficiency, and strong analytical and communication skills. Experience with Acumatica is a plus, and non-profit or insurance sector exposure is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field.
• Valid NC Driver's License.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to critically analyze accounting processes and transactions.
• Experience with Acumatica ERP software is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork.
• Scuba industry, non-profit or insurance agency experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review bank accounts daily for multiple entities and prepare daily deposits and ledger entries.
• Reconcile and post batch entries and integrate into Acumatica.
• Physically deposit funds or use remote deposit software.
• AR invoicing and collections and reconcile discrepancies with senior staff.
• Research NSF items and communicate with members and departments.
• Reconcile credit card receipts with vendors and Acumatica.
• Data entry for claims payments into Acumatica AP module.
• Identify and resolve general ledger discrepancies during monthly reconciliations.
• Review tax exempt and credit status documentation for customers.
• Assist with projects to improve accounts receivable processes.

POSITION OVERVIEW

FLSA: Non-Exempt, Full Time

Department: Finance

Primary Worksite: 6 West Colony Place, Durham, NC

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Reports to: CFO

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for daily bank deposits, Acumatica batch integration, batch exceptions tracking and processing with business units, accounts receivable collections, credit card and various general ledger reconciliations. This is a hybrid position with 3 days per week in office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review bank accountants daily for multiple entities, prepare daily bank deposits, cash and general ledger entries
• Reconcile and post sales portal batches and integrate into Acumatica
• Physically take deposits to bank daily when required or process via remote deposit software
• Accounts receivable invoicing and collections, research and initiate processing to clear miscellaneous balances, and reconcile discrepancies in conjunction with the Senior Staff Accountant
• Research NSF and communicate with member and membership departments as needed
• Reconcile credit card receipts with vendor and Acumatica processing
• Data entry for claims payments into the accounts payable module of Acumatica
• Identify and solve general ledger discrepancies with monthly account reconciliation.
• Review tax exempt and credit status documentation for customers.
• Perform other projects to improve AR processes as well as other duties as assigned by the finance team.
