Job summary

RI Commerce Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant to support fiscal operations, maintain financial records, and assist grant accounting and billing. The role requires at least two years in an accounting team, with solid journal entry and reconciliation skills.

The staff accountant will help with month-end close, cash management, AP/AR processing, and grant invoicing, reporting to the CFO. This is a temp-to-hire position with a transition after 800 hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Understanding of GAAP principles.
• Experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts receivable activities (billing/receipts) for all entities.
• Assist with daily cash sheet and cash deposits; manage cash-related tasks.
• Handle accounts payable processes, vendor maintenance, and 1099 cycle.
