Job summary

A Safe Haven Foundation is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage cash, accounts receivable and payable, month-end close, grant billing, and intercompany accounting. This role works closely with the Controller, program leadership, grant administrators, payroll, and external auditors to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and reported.

Responsibilities include bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, grant reporting, intercompany activity, and annual audit support, with hands-on use

Responsibilities

• Run and review transaction reports from organizational bank accounts and apply cash receipts to AR.
• Prepare and execute bank deposits and ensure funds are recorded to the correct subsidiary.
• Reconcile bank accounts to the general ledger and investigate variances.
• Record and post journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and intercompany postings.
• Prepare monthly grant invoices and review grant-related expenses for allowability and coding.
• Perform monthly AR reconciliations and tie aging to the GL.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and asset/liability reconciliations.
• Support external audits with schedules, documentation, and analysis.
• Process accounting transactions in NetSuite and prepare recurring entries.
