Covenant House Texas seeks a Staff Accountant to manage accounts payable, grant billing, and general accounting tasks. This role supports the accounting function, processes payments, reconciles ledgers, and assists with audits and reporting.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least two years of related experience, with strong Excel and Lawson A/P experience preferred. Houston-based, full-time, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• 2 years experience in full-cycle accounts payable, GL accounting, and reconciliation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; Lawson A/P experience highly desirable.
• Organized, able to work with limited supervision in a small office.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounts payable, A/P log maintenance, and invoice processing.
• Process grant billing and related reimbursements on a timely basis.
• Perform GL reconciliations and assist with year-end close and audits.
• Prepare monthly grant billing, reporting, and reconciliation.
