Job summary

The Senior Accountant at Covenant House International supports the Finance Department’s scaling needs, handling general accounting close, grant accounting, and audit support, while partnering with the SVP of Finance on global close and consolidation reporting.

The role also serves affiliate sites, performs complex reconciliations, and participates in the organization’s audit readiness and compliance efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in Accounting/Finance.
• Seven+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience with grant accounting including restricted net assets and funder reporting.
• Experience reconciling grant activity between grant management systems and ERPs.
• Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Reconcile grant transactions and donor-restricted investments and respond to auditor requests.
• Support global consolidation reporting and multi-entity eliminations in NetSuite.
• Provide interim finance coverage to affiliate sites and assist with audits.
