Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant dedicated to maintaining financial integrity for a nonprofit organization. The role focuses on GAAP-compliant accounting, fund management, and accurate reporting to support programs serving low-income communities.

You will manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and grant expenditures, while collaborating with the CFO and administrative staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting or related field required; 7+ years nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; nonprofit or grant accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting.
• Experience with Abila MIP, QuickBooks, and Excel.
• Detail-oriented with high integrity and ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Maintain general ledger and record financial transactions in GAAP.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll allocations.
• Perform monthly and year-end close and reconciliations.
• Track grant expenditures and ensure compliance with funding agreements.
• Assist with audits and support internal controls.
