Job summary

Covenant House International is seeking a Senior Accountant to support both close processes and affiliate site coverage. The role emphasizes grant accounting, prepaid expenses, donor-restricted investments, and consolidation reporting in NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Seven or more years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience with grant accounting including restricted net assets, draw-downs, and funder reporting.
• Experience reconciling grant activity between grant management systems and ERPs.
• Experience with intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced ERP experience, preferably NetSuite (OneWorld multi-entity consolidation).
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF formulas, pivot tables).

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Reconcile grant transactions, grant activity between systems, and apply invoice payments.
• Own prepaid expense accounting and donor-restricted investment accounting.
• Support stand-alone and consolidated audits with schedules and PBC requests.
• Provide interim finance coverage to affiliate sites as needed.
• Prepare consolidated financial reporting and eliminations in NetSuite.
• Assist in training affiliates on finance procedures and NetSuite use.
