The ideal candidate has 3–7 years of accounting experience, ERP experience (Epicor), and strong Excel skills. You’ll collaborate across Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain while maintaining accuracy and timely reporting.

Staff Accountant

Summary

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced engineering/manufacturing organization in the energy sector. Working under the direction of the CFO, the Staff Accountant is an important member of the Finance team and is responsible for supporting the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial records throughgeneral accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, manufacturing accounting, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, and tax compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a varied role and wants to be involved in multiple areas of the accounting function. The ideal candidate will be organized, analytical, proactive, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and other departments.

In this role, the Staff Accountant will prepare and post journal entries, perform general ledger reconciliations, investigate variances, maintain supporting schedules, and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. The position will also support the preparation of financial statements and monthly financial and operational reports.

A key component of this position ismanufacturing accounting, including reviewing and closing manufacturing jobs in the ERP system, analyzing labor, material and overhead variances, reconciling inventory-related accounts, and supporting accurate job costing and production reporting. The Staff Accountant will work closely with Operations and Supply Chain to investigate and resolve discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of financial and production information.

The Staff Accountant will also be responsible forpayroll administration and reconciliation, including bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, supporting payroll tax reporting, and coordinating payroll-related reconciliations and expense reports.

Additional responsibilities includeaccounts payable, vendor invoice processing, payment processing, vendor statement reconciliations, sales and use tax reporting, property tax filings, and supporting external audits and tax advisors. The position will also assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

We are looking for ahighly motivated and organized candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred and3-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience withERP systems such as Epicor and strong/advanced Excel skills are highly desirable. Knowledge of payroll processing and sales/use tax reporting is also preferred.

The ideal candidate will have stronganalytical, organizational, communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, along with excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, investigate discrepancies, process information quickly, and develop practical solutions to accounting and operational issues.

This position requires someone who canwork independently with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate effectively across departments. The ability to anticipate potential questions or issues, take initiative, and follow through on responsibilities is essential.
