Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting. This role will assist with general ledger activity, reconciliations, and month-end close, while partnering closely with the Financial Controller to support financial processes across multiple business units. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within a dynamic and expanding organization.
This role requires the ability to work independently in a distributed environment while supporting employees across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Support payroll coordination and related accounting entries
Month-End Close & Reporting
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare account reconciliations, including bank, inventory, and balance sheet accounts
- Help compile financial reports and supporting schedules
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned close tasks
Compliance & Audit Support
- Maintain organized documentation for audits and financial reviews
- Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
- Assist with the implementation of new systems or process improvements
- Support standardization of accounting practices across business units and locations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 2-4+ years of accounting experience preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or industrial environments is a plus
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated with the ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently
- Skilled at prioritizing and executing tasks across multiple projects
- Collaborative and experienced in cross-functional, team-oriented environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
- Experience with NetSuite (ERP), Asana (project management), and Klipfolio (business intelligence/dashboards) preferred
- In-office presence required
- Some intermittent travel to various manufacturing and processing facilities may be required
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy and safety regulations

- Competitive salary commensurate with experience. $65,000 - $80,000
