Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a collaborative Staff Accountant to own the full accounts payable lifecycle and manage multi-entity accounting workflows. You will be the financial anchor for vendor payments, intercompany activity, and balance sheet reconciliations across the organization, ensuring precision and timely processing.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of general accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced MS Excel skills with experience using QuickBooks (Enterprise or Online).

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of general accounting experience with at least 3 years in accounts payable management.
• Experience handling books for multiple operating companies or legal entities (construction, distribution, or manufacturing is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, high-volume transaction processing, and intercompany mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Own the full accounts payable pipeline end-to-end, from invoice intake to disbursement of weekly payments.
• Audit and reconcile vendor accounts and maintain vendor master records.
• Serve as primary liaison for AP questions and vendor relationships.
• Track and reconcile intercompany activity and balances across entities.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close with accruals and journal entries.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including AP and accrued liabilities.
• Support monthly financial reporting and audits, and assist with tax tasks.
• Identify bottlenecks in AP processes and drive internal control improvements.

Job description

Our team is hiring a collaborative Staff Accountant to take ownership of our full-lifecycle accounts payable function and multi-entity accounting workflows. In this capacity, you will serve as the financial anchor for vendor payments, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations across our organization. We are looking for someone who brings precision to their work, loves untangling complex accounting workflows, and has strong operational experience with QuickBooks and multi-company setups.

What You Will Do

• Own the full accounts payable pipeline end-to-end, overseeing invoice intake, general ledger coding, supervisory approvals, and the disbursement of weekly electronic and paper payments.
• Audit and reconcile vendor accounts regularly, catching discrepancies early and keeping our vendor master directory up to date.
• Act as the primary internal and external liaison for all accounts payable questions and vendor relationship management.
• Track, record, and reconcile intercompany activity and balances between connected corporate entities to ensure seamless monthly clearing and settlement.
• Partner in month-end and year-end close procedures by drafting accruals, posting journal entries, and maintaining accurate schedules.
• Reconcile critical balance sheet accounts, including accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and company credit card statements.
• Assist management in assembling monthly financial reporting packages, supporting annual external audits, and helping coordinate tax compliance tasks.
• Drive operational improvements by identifying bottlenecks in current AP processes, upgrading internal controls, and leveraging software integrations.

What We Are Looking For

• 3 to 5 years of general accounting experience, featuring at least 3 years of direct, hands‑on accounts payable management. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior background managing books for multiple operating companies or legal entities (experience in construction, distribution, or manufacturing environments is a big plus).
• Solid grasp of GAAP, high-volume transaction processing, and intercompany accounting mechanics.
• Advanced command of MS Excel, and proven working capability in QuickBooks (Enterprise and/or Online). Exposure to automated AP or financial integration software is advantageous.
• Highly organized with exceptional follow‑through, strong analytical thinking, and clear verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable thriving in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
