Job summary

Two Men and a Truck is seeking a Staff Accountant in Cedar Rapids, IA for an in-office role. The position supports multi-entity accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll and operational accounting.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, 2+ years of experience, proficiency with GL, payroll exposure, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide backup support for payroll processing as needed
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations
• Participate in and eventually own portions of the monthly close
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation
• Review general ledger activity for accuracy and proper classification
• Prepare monthly financial and management reports
• Assist with accruals, allocations and balance-sheet reconciliations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Support year-end, insurance/audit and tax-related requests
• Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend corrections/process improvements
• Project support as needed

Pay: $50,000-$60,000 annually (based experience and education)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, this is an in-office position

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team supporting multiple TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise locations across several states. This position offers broad exposure to multi-entity accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll and operational accounting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical and interested in growing their accounting knowledge and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide backup support for payroll processing as needed

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience considered
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Payroll experience preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations and month-end close strongly preferred
• Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Provide outstanding and timely customer service
• Exceptional organizational skills and must be able to multi-task under time constraints
• Ensure accuracy and consistency
• Ability to work independently
• Proficient in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook
