Job summary

Custom Truck One Source is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to lead the accounting team and drive accurate financial reporting. You will oversee day-to-day rental accounting, coordinate with other departments, and ensure timely month-end closes in alignment with US GAAP.

The role emphasizes process improvements, internal controls, and support for year-end audits. A strong Office suite background and stable work history are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 5 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Stable work history and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Ability to manage a team and coordinate with departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage team of employees responsible for day-to-day rental accounting and close activities.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Review daily transactions including additions, sales, journal entries, and pricing entries.
• Ensure timely month-end close and adherence to deadlines.
• Monitor SOX controls for Rental Accounting and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with year-end audit including reconciliations and analyses.
• Analyze account balances, prepare reconciliations, and propose adjusting entries.
• Assess efficiency of processes and implement improvements.
• Create and maintain process documentation for responsibilities.
• Identify issues, determine root causes, and resolve them.
• Other analysis and special projects as assigned.

Summary

As an Accounting Supervisor, you will play a key role in the accounting functions of the organization. This position is responsible for managing team members’ performance, reviewing daily transactions, identifying process improvements, reviewing deliverables for the year end audit, providing timely responses to inquiries, and performing standard monthly and quarterly close activities. This position does not require travel.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage team of employees that are responsible for day-to-day rental accounting.
• Engage collaboratively with other departments.
• Review teams daily transactions that will include additions, sales, journal entries, RPO pricing, etc.
• Ensure month end close process goes smoothly and work toward desired deadlines.
• Monitor SOX controls that are applicable to Rental Accounting to ensure compliance.
• Assist with the year-end audit, providing detailed reconciliations, roll-forwards, and analyses of account balances and trends.
• Analyze account balances, prepare reconciliations, and propose adjusting entries (as needed) to ensure proper application of US GAAP.
• Assess efficiency and effectiveness of business and accounting processes. Investigate best practices, suggest improvements, and assist with implementation of process changes.
• Initiate and maintain process documentation for all areas of responsibility.
• Ensure that all deliverables comply with external regulatory guidance and professional standards.
• Skillfully use computerized accounting and financial management systems.
• Identify problem areas or situations, evaluate root cause(s), and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
• Other analysis and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
• 5 years of industry accounting experience
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Stable work history
• Detail-oriented
