Valor Fleet is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day finances, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end close. You will handle towing-specific billing and support payroll/compliance in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with dispatch, drivers and vendors.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in AR/AP/GL or full-cycle accounting, strong Excel skills, and a solid grasp of GAAP. This on-site role in Leesburg, FL offers growth with a stable, growing company.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of GAAP, reconciliations and month-end close
• Very accurate, organized and able to meet deadlines
• Clear communicator who can work with dispatch, drivers, customers and outside vendors

Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Month-End Close: prepare journal entries, accruals and reconciliations
• Track fixed assets and depreciation
• Prepare monthly financial statements and revenue reports by service line
• Ensure accurate billing by reconciling software data with the accounting system
• Payroll & compliance support: sales/IFTA taxes and year-end filings
• Track insurance policies, claims and COI for commercial customers
• Maintain internal controls and manage cash deposits from yard releases and drivers

Valor Fleet is hiring a Staff Accountant to help run the day-to-day finances of our daily operations. You'll reconcile accounts, and help with the month-end close. You'll also handle billing that's specific to towing. It's a good fit for a detail-oriented accountant who likes a fast-paced, hands-on business and wants to see how their work keeps trucks on the road.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Month-End Close

Prepare journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations for bank, credit card, loan and clearing accounts

Track fixed assets

Help prepare monthly financial statements and revenue reports by service line

Compare software data to the accounting system so every job is billed

Payroll & Compliance Support

Prepare records for sales tax, IFTA/fuel tax, audits and year-end tax filings

Track insurance policies, claims and certificates of insurance for commercial customers

Follow internal controls and handle cash deposits from yard releases and drivers

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience

2+ years of experience in AR, AP, GL or full-cycle accounting

Strong software skills and intermediate Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)

Solid understanding of GAAP, reconciliations and month-end close

Very accurate, organized and able to meet deadlines

Clear communicator who can work with dispatch, drivers, customers and outside vendors

Preferred:

Experience in towing, transportation, trucking, logistics or automotive services

Familiar with motor club billing or insurance claims processing

Knows fixed asset accounting for fleet vehicles and equipment financing

Payroll experience, including commission-based pay
