Job summary

Siemens Software is seeking an experienced SRE/Cloud Operations Lead in the USA to drive reliability, scalability, and performance for core applications and cloud infrastructure. You will lead a skilled team, champion SRE best practices, and advance automation across AWS native services and container workloads.

You will oversee incident management processes, collaborate with enterprise Incident Response, and ensure robust observability using CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or DevOps/SRE roles, with at least 2–3 years in a technical leadership or team lead capacity.
• AWS Cloud expertise: deep hands‑on experience deploying and operating production workloads in AWS using managed services and compute offerings.
• Kubernetes & EKS: proven expertise managing production‑grade Kubernetes environments, including cluster upgrades, networking, and scaling.
• Incident Management Leadership: experience designing and maturing incident management frameworks in a complex enterprise.
• Observability Mastery: hands‑on with OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, and Datadog for monitoring and alerting.
• Automation & Scripting: proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go).
• Mindset: strong advocate for SRE principles, blameless post‑mortems, and security practices.
• Excellent communication bridging engineering teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing SRE and Cloud Operations team with a focus on automation and blameless post‑mortems.
• Own reliability, availability, and performance of applications hosted in AWS and containerized workloads.
• Oversee Kubernetes deployments, capacity management, and upgrades.
• Design, implement, and refine Incident Management frameworks, runbooks, and on‑call rotations.
• Coordinate with enterprise Incident Response teams, ensuring tight integration of alerting and tooling.
• Maintain telemetry posture using CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog for metrics, logs, and traces.
• Drive IaC automation for provisioning, deployments, and toil reduction.
