Job summary

Siemens Digital Industries Software in the USA seeks an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to lead a team responsible for reliability, scalability, and performance of core AWS-native services, Kubernetes platforms, and observability stacks.

You will drive incident management, automation, IaC, and on-call coordination with enterprise Incident Response, while mentoring engineers and promoting blameless post-mortems and security best practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or DevOps/SRE roles, with leadership experience.
• Deep hands-on AWS experience deploying and operating production workloads using managed services and compute options.
• Proven Kubernetes/EKS expertise including upgrades, networking, and scaling.
• Experience designing and maturing Incident Management frameworks in a complex enterprise.
• Strong OpenTelemetry instrumentation, CloudWatch and Datadog monitoring and alerting.
• Proficient with enterprise incident tooling (PagerDuty) and on-call processes.
• Solid IaC experience with Terraform and CloudFormation; scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Advocate for SRE principles, blameless post-mortems, and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing SRE and Cloud Operations team.
• Architecture & Reliability: Own reliability, availability, and performance of applications in AWS and container workloads.
• Kubernetes & Container Ops: Collaborate to ensure reliability and capacity for Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Incident Management & Response: Design and refine incident processes, runbooks, SLAs/SLOs, and on-call rotations.
• Cross-Functional Incident Integration: Interface between engineering teams and the corporate Incident Response Team.
• Observability & Monitoring: Evolve telemetry using OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, and Datadog for metrics and traces.
• IaC & Automation: Drive provisioning, deployments, and toil reduction with IaC tooling.
