Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Manager Site Reliability Engineering to lead the Linux platform team responsible for HIVE/CLP components and virtualization layers.

You will drive reliability, security, and scalability of Compute platforms, while shaping engineering direction and partnering with hardware and product teams. You will mentor technical leads, oversee incident response, and push for automated, observable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Have demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Have extensive experience with Linux internals, operating systems, and systems administration.

Responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of technical leads and Linux platform engineers.
• Setting technical direction and priorities for the team, balancing platform evolution, reliability, security, and operational needs.
• Driving engineering projects from requirements and design through implementation, validation, and deployment.
• Partnering with hardware, product, operations, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable Compute platforms.
• Improving platform observability, automation, and operational practices to reduce service disruptions and accelerate incident resolution.
• Leading the investigation and resolution of complex, service-impacting issues and supporting incident response and on-call operations.
