Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Site Reliability Engineering to lead and grow a team of Linux platform engineers. You will drive technical direction, balance reliability with platform evolution, and partner across hardware, product, operations, and engineering to deliver reliable Compute platforms.

You will enhance observability, automate operations, and oversee incident response and on-call support, ensuring scalable and secure infrastructure for Akamai's Compute services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a related engineering leadership role.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong background in Linux internals, OS, and systems administration.
• Understanding of server hardware and architecture, and their interaction with OS.
• Track record of improving reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Linux platform engineers and technical leads.
• Set technical direction and priorities balancing platform evolution, reliability, and security.
• Drive projects from requirements to deployment with validation.
• Partner with hardware, product, operations, and engineering teams to deliver scalable Compute platforms.
• Improve observability, automation, and operational practices to reduce disruptions.
• Lead incident resolution and support on-call operations.
