Job summary

Axon is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for its Compute Platform Engineering team in a hybrid role based in Boston, MA (or Atlanta/Seattle). You will own end-to-end platform features on a global Kubernetes footprint, automate provisioning and day-2 operations, and drive reliability and security across Azure/AWS environments.

You’ll work with AKS/EKS, Terraform/Pulumi, ArgoCD, and modern observability tools, contributing to high-availability services while collaborating across engineering

Qualifications

• 3+ years in platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience building and operating Kubernetes platforms in production (AKS/EKS).
• Experience with Azure or AWS.
• Programming in Python, Go, Java, or C#.
• CI/CD and Git-based workflows to automate infra provisioning, builds, tests, releases.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar; modular, testable code.
• Observability tools to debug issues and improve performance.
• Hands-on AI/tooling integration to accelerate engineering work.
• US citizenship required for CJIS clearance to access US production environments.

Responsibilities

• Own platform features end to end with design docs and rollout plans.
• Review changes and share operational knowledge across teams.
• Build and operate scalable Kubernetes platforms and tooling.
• Automate cluster provisioning, bootstrapping, upgrades, and day-2 ops with IaC and GitOps.
• Improve fleet reliability, operability, and cost efficiency; manage autoscaling and right-sizing.
• Ensure security/compliance through policy enforcement and gov cloud requirements.
• Debug issues in cloud-native distributed systems and participate in on-call rotation.
• Write performant, maintainable code and clear documentation for self-serve.
• Leverage agentic AI tooling to automate platform operations and accelerate work.
