Job summary

Axon Enterprise in Seattle, WA is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer on the Kubernetes team within the Compute Platform Engineering group. You will own platform features end to end, build and operate Kubernetes platforms, and drive reliability across a global fleet of clusters in Azure AKS and AWS EKS, with on-site collaboration Tue–Fri and remote on Mon.

You’ll work to automate provisioning, support secure and compliant government-cloud requirements, and contribute to documentation and tooling

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience building and operating Kubernetes platforms such as AKS, EKS, or similar in production.
• Experience building platforms on Azure or AWS.
• Experience with Python, Go, C#, Java, or similar.
• Experience with CI/CD and Git-based workflows to automate infrastructure provisioning, builds, tests, and releases.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar).
• Experience using observability tools to debug issues.
• Experience designing tooling that simplifies SaaS/PaaS operations.
• Hands-on experience applying AI and agentic tooling to engineering work.
• Empathy for the needs of software engineers.
• United States citizenship, required to obtain CJIS clearance for US production environments

Responsibilities

• Own platform features and components end to end, including design docs and rollout plans.
• Review teammates' changes and share operational knowledge across teams.
• Build and operate Kubernetes platforms and tooling for rapid, secure service delivery.
• Automate cluster provisioning, bootstrapping, upgrades, and day-2 operations using IaC and GitOps.
• Improve reliability, operability, and cost efficiency across the fleet.
• Keep the platform secure and compliant through policy enforcement and government-cloud requirements.
• Debug problems in cloud-native distributed systems and participate in on-call rotation.
• Write performant, maintainable code and clear documentation.
• Leverage agentic AI tooling to automate operations and accelerate work.
• Take calculated risks and foster innovation within the team.
