Job summary

Axon seeks a platform engineer in the APX CloudNet team to own networking and real-time cloud services. You will influence across engineering, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant operations with Istio and Kubernetes at scale.

You will guide engineers on networking design, automate maintenance, and help drive FedRAMP-compliant features while collaborating with global teams in a hybrid Seattle-based office.

Qualifications

• Must have CJIS clearance for US production access.
• Experience with globally diverse 24/7 high-volume systems.
• Demonstrated networking expertise from infrastructure to services (e.g., service mesh, rate limiting, ingress/egress).
• Excellent problem-solving skills for cloud-native distributed systems.
• Familiarity with GitOps for software delivery.
• Design and delivery of infrastructure-as-code on public cloud (Azure).
• Experience operating components or services in Kubernetes clusters at scale.
• Proficiency in Python, Golang, or Scala/Java.

Responsibilities

• Work on a mixed infrastructure/software team handling networking aspects of Axon systems.
• Assist with Istio service mesh initiatives as part of future scaling strategy.
• Develop features while maintaining existing components under strict regulatory regimes (FedRAMP).
• Advise software engineers on networking topics through reviews and discussions.
• Automate cloud platform maintenance with high availability (4x9s).TLS management and automation are part of the scope.
