Job summary

CrowdStrike is hiring an Engineer II to manage Kubernetes clusters across data centers and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, OCI). You will keep clusters healthy, handle incidents, and automate routine tasks.

You will partner with senior engineers and expand your skills in Kubernetes, Prometheus, Thanos, Alertmanager, and Grafana. You will write Go or Python tools to replace manual work, maintain runbooks, and use AI tools daily to improve troubleshooting and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in infrastructure, systems, or platform engineering, with at least 2 years running Kubernetes in production.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Prometheus, Alertmanager, and Grafana.
• Programming or scripting experience in Go or Python, with interest in Go.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or OCI.
• Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, or similar tools, and with git.
• Willingness to be on call.
• Experience using AI tools in engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain large Kubernetes clusters in data centers and public cloud.
• Troubleshoot nodes, pods, networking, DNS, storage, and control plane issues; escalate when needed.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive incidents to resolution.
• Perform planned changes like upgrades and capacity additions following change processes.
• Build and tune alerts and dashboards in Prometheus, Thanos, Alertmanager, and Grafana.
• Write tools in Go or Python to automate repetitive tasks.
• Keep runbooks and documentation up to date.
• Leverage AI tools to troubleshoot and automate workflows.
• Engage in design discussions to understand how the platform fits together.
• Apply AI to enhance decision-making and streamline operations.
