Job summary

Commence is seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher to lead implementation and evaluation of CMS/CMMI alternative payment models. You will translate policy goals into actionable methodologies and work with cross‑functional teams to drive federal health research initiatives.

You will collaborate with economists, data scientists, and engineers on ML‑based approaches, develop evaluation reports, and mentor junior staff while delivering high‑quality analyses for CMS and other agencies.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s with relevant health policy/economics focus and 4+ or 8+ years of experience.
• Hands-on CMS/CMMI APM implementation or evaluation experience.
• Strong analytical and writing skills for federal audiences.

Responsibilities

• Translate CMS/CMMI goals into operational methodologies using Medicare and Medicaid claims, enrollment data and other sources.
• Design and run evaluations for value-based care models and measure impact on spending, utilization and quality.
• Collaborate with economists, data scientists, and engineers to apply ML-based methods on the Commence platform.
• Lead development of methodology documents and evaluation briefs for federal model teams and proposals.
• Manage teams, set priorities, coordinate tasks, and ensure timely, high-quality reports and products.
