Sr Project Manager - Affordable Housing - Brooklyn

Location: New York, NY

Salary Range: $180,000 to $225,000

Overview

A well established construction management firm is seeking an experienced Sr PM to lead largescale residential and affordable housing projects in New York City. The ideal candidate has experience with tenant-in-place renovations, NYCHA or other public sector projects, and a strong understanding of local building codes and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of construction from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate the work of subcontractors, consultants, and field staff to maintain project efficiency.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and progress reports for both internal teams and clients.
• Review drawings and specifications, prepare scopes of work, and assist in bid evaluations.
• Manage permitting, inspections, and project documentation in line with city and agency requirements.
• Monitor quality control and safety programs to ensure compliance with all standards.
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication between ownership, design teams, and field operations.
• Identify issues early and provide proactive solutions to minimize disruptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• 10 or more years of experience managing construction projects, with a focus on affordable housing, NYCHA, or mixed use developments.
• Strong understanding of union and prevailing wage requirements.
• Excellent organizational, budgeting, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
• Familiarity with NYC building codes, DOB requirements, and permitting processes.
