PitchBook’s HR Business Partner collaborates closely with leaders for assigned business units on team engagement, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and coaching. This role contributes to the broader People Team on department projects and initiatives that positively impact the employee experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support employees and leaders across assigned departments and business units to develop HR strategies to support business goals
  • Successfully coach and counsel managers on maintaining positive employee relations and serve as primary point of contact for managers on determining resolutions for a wide range of people-related issues
  • Partner with People team leadership to implement and continuously improve cyclical talent programs including Quarterly Conversations, Talent Reviews, and other talent initiatives
  • Partner with People team leadership to plan and execute PitchBook’s performance management process
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and department leaders on headcount planning to ensure job descriptions, leveling, and compensation are accurate before the recruiting process is initiated
  • Provide consultative compensation support to leaders to ensure that PitchBook’s compensation strategy is competitive and considers performance and internal equity
  • Diagnose department employee engagement or performance issues and identify solutions to address them
  • Conduct investigations in response to employee relations issues and recommend/implement courses of action based on investigation results
  • Act as a liaison between department leaders and HR Operations to facilitate employee lifecycle updates
  • Partner with HRBPs, HR Operations, and other stakeholders to support PitchBook’s mobility and visa processes for domestic and international transfers
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws in all employee-related practices including FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, EEO, ADA, and related SOX compliance areas
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Professional certifications (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, etc.) are a bonus
  • 10+ years of progressive responsibility in HR roles including demonstrated competence in HR processes, benefits administration, employee relations, HR data analysis, HR compliance, HR tools, and employee communication
  • Experience supporting a company or business unit with at least 500 employees
  • Experience supporting employees and leaders across multiple states and jurisdictions; experience in the UK and Singapore is a plus
  • Superior knowledge of US employment law including state-specific laws in WA, CA, and NY. Experience with international employment law in the UK and Singapore is a plus
  • Proven ability to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills and identify and drive appropriate solutions, translate business strategy and goals into optimal HR processes that are scalable, simple, customer-focused, and adaptable to unique and changing business needs
  • Demonstrated success in problem-solving and ownership to resolve issues
  • Ability to operate independently, using sound judgment to make decisions
  • Process-oriented, organized, and metrics-driven with amazing attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present material to groups in-person and via the phone
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and protect employee privacy
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily. Previous experience with Workday is a plus
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $140,000-$170,000
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 10%

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 4+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
