Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with VDOT and contractor personnel and the general public.
• Ability to read, interpret and analyze roadway, structure and bridge plans, construction contracts and other project management documents.
• Ability to record and maintain detailed project documentation and prepare reports, forms and correspondence.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of mathematics including algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
• Possession of or ability to obtain required certifications within 12 months of employment and maintain thereafter.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Independently coordinate, schedule and inspect highway construction projects to ensure quality per plans and specs.
• Inspect all phases of highway construction and maintenance projects under supervision.
• Ensure construction activities meet contract requirements and safety/enviro guidelines.
• Maintain as-built drawings and project documentation.
• Oversee materials testing and ensure proper payment documentation.
