Job summary

U.S. Facilities, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector to oversee highway construction projects in Suffolk, Virginia. You will coordinate inspections, ensure adherence to plans and specifications, and monitor safety, environmental, and traffic controls on site.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze roadway, structure, and bridge plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience supervising others and providing technical guidance on construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Inspect routine and complex highway projects to ensure construction quality per plans and specs.
• Monitor project schedule through progress meetings.
• Review project submittals for approvals prior to work start.
• Maintain safety practices, including erosion and sediment control and traffic management.
• Coordinate with VDOT, contractors, and public/agency staff.
• Assist in project close-outs and maintain project files.
