Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a Civil Engineering/Construction Management professional to manage highway construction and inspection activities on multiple projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards.

You will review daily records for policy compliance, certify project records, and maintain project documentation in collaboration with contractors, stakeholders, and VDOT leadership.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with contractors, political entities and general public.
• Considerable knowledge of highway construction management techniques, methods, procedures, practices and equipment.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local transportation rules, regulations and policies.
• Knowledge of preliminary engineering practices and contract development and management processes.

Responsibilities

• Review daily records for compliance to policies and procedures, OSHA, VOSH and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, conduct required meetings and participate in hiring processes.
• Prepare claims, NOI responses and ensure project documentation is maintained and submitted as required.
