Job Summary

The Sr. ER Consultant is responsible for:

  • Mitigating risk for the organization and supporting people leaders in counseling and guiding them through complex employee issues.
  • Balancing risk mitigation with positively impacting the employee experience by addressing concerns and reaching fair, equitable solutions.

Primary responsibilities include investigations, corrective action, coaching & counseling for leaders, leaves of absence, accommodations, and support for reductions in force, EEOC responses, and policy interpretation. Core competencies include concise and compassionate communication, active listening, conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Identify and mitigate organizational risk by managing employee relations issues and ensuring policy adherence.
  • Prepare clear documentation for each case, with discoverability in mind.
  • Assess risk and resolve conflicts through mediation.
  • Track case details to identify trends and address recurring risks.
  • Foster a positive work environment and employee experience by ensuring fair solutions.
  • Conduct investigations into misconduct and incivility, applying appropriate diligence.
  • Use Employee Engagement Survey results to improve employee experience.
  • Assist management with employee issues, including corrective actions, coaching, leaves, and policy adherence.
  • Prepare management for difficult conversations with talking points.
  • Provide strategic insights into employee relations issues, conduct trend analysis, and develop training.
  • Offer efficient consultative services to support people leaders.
  • Mentor and lead Employee Relations Consultants, providing guidance on employee issues.
  • Lead complex employee relations projects or initiatives, partnering with HRBP's, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
Required Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Experience

5-7 years in Human Resources, counseling, social work, law, or a comparable field.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree or J.D.
