Strong leadership, knowledge of construction methods, health and safety requirements and contract
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Land/Site Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex civil engineering, land development and site infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion. This is a senior role requiring strong commercial, technical and operational leadership, with responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include managing project teams, consultants, contractors and supply-chain partners; developing detailed programmes, budgets, procurement plans and risk registers; and monitoring progress against agreed milestones and performance targets. You will oversee site investigations, earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities, foundations, access infrastructure and associated civil works, ensuring designs are buildable and comply with relevant legislation, specifications and approvals. The role will also involve coordinating planning conditions, permits, surveys and technical submissions, while maintaining clear communication with clients, stakeholders and statutory authorities. You will identify and resolve project issues, manage variations and commercial changes, review contractor performance, and provide accurate progress reports to senior leadership.
Applicants should have substantial experience managing civil engineering, land development or major site infrastructure projects, ideally from pre-construction through to handover. A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in civil engineering, construction or a related discipline is desirable, together with strong knowledge of construction methods, health and safety requirements, contract administration and cost control. Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering multiple workstreams in a demanding environment is essential. You will be commercially aware, highly organised and confident making decisions, negotiating with stakeholders and managing competing priorities. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management are required. A recognised project management or engineering membership, along with relevant site safety training, would be advantageous.
