Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Senior Business Process Analyst in the HRIS Division of the Human Resources Department. The role focuses on complex HR processes, information systems, time & labor, and benefits administration, with opportunities to optimize across the HRIS ecosystem.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and five+ years in business analysis; preferred skills cover PeopleSoft HCM 9.2, PeopleSoft Query, Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL Server.

  • Five (5) or more years of business experience and business analysis experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct business analysis, needs assessments and fit/gap analysis.
  • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates. Elicit, document, analyze, validate, and communicate requirements using established methods and tools for new and/or existing technology initiatives.
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, consolidate low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and solution providers. Interact with others using strong, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Exhibit strong capabilities in grasping and documenting business issues
  • Coordinate system testing, user acceptance testing, managing incidents and defects.
  • Recommend and develop metrics in support of QA testing initiatives.
  • Effectively manage all aspects of client interaction to ensure business requirements are met while maintaining scopecontrol and SDLC requirements
  • Research, analyze and evaluate new information technology methods and techniques
  • Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, using industry standard project management tools
  • Assist in providing support to City employees in preparation of business cases leading to M&C requests and collective bargaining for HRIS initiatives.

Pay Range: $42.87 - $55.73/hr.

A Senior Business Process Analyst job is available with The City of Fort Worth Human Resources Department – Information Systems (HRIS) Division. The HRIS Division serves a diverse workforce of over 8000 employees and provides technical/functional support on a variety of HR programs which include but are not limited to administrative oversight of all hiring, re-hiring, promotions, demotions, job data changes, employee personal data changes, monitoring compliance aspects.

The HRIS Division is in search of a Senior Business Process Analyst. The incumbent will perform complex work in a variety of professional, technical and analytical human resources functions, including information systems/records, time & labor and absence management, term processing, benefits administration, occupational health and safety, etc.; and performs a variety of professional and analytical tasks in support of assigned area of responsibility in the Human Resources Department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
  • Five (5) or more years of business experience and business analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM 9.2, especially Core-HR, Time & Labor and Absence Management Modules
  • Experience using/implementing PeopleSoft Query tool
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Database SQL tool (Microsoft SQL Server)
  • Experience in working with IT/ERP teams in troubleshooting, designing, implementing, testing various enhancements to PeopleSoft System and other applications

The Senior Business Process Analyst Job Responsibilities Include

Working Conditions and Physical Demand

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.

Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
