Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc is seeking a Senior Investigator to lead investigations of employee relations cases across the enterprise. You will document findings, communicate recommended actions, and provide leadership with clear summaries.

The role requires 7+ years of investigations experience, strong knowledge of employment laws, and the ability to travel domestically up to 25%. You will collaborate with legal and senior leaders while maintaining confidential records and driving process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
• 7+ years of professional experience handling internal workplace investigations.
• In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, etc.).
• Strong initiative, judgment, and ability to handle multiple cases/priorities.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 25% for investigations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations into claims of potential harassment, discrimination, workplace misconduct and/or potential violations of company policies.
• Communicate recommendations and guidance on appropriate corrective actions based on investigation results.
• Provide investigations, findings and summaries to senior leadership.
• Conduct data analysis on complaints and related metrics, monitoring for patterns and trends to identify areas of concern.
• Draft, proof, and finalize documents ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy/legal requirements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders including leadership, legal, and others when appropriate.
• Utilize comprehensive employee relations expertise to assess credibility and provide guidance and recommendations for the organization.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of investigations, findings, and resolutions.
• Lead continuous improvement of processes and protocols to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in handling employee relations issues.
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
• 7+ years of professional experience handling internal workplace investigations
• In depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws including but not limited to; FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, etc.
• Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills
• Strong project management, analytical, fact-finding and evidence gathering skills
• Strong documentation and report writing skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Ability to exercise a sense of urgency handling multiple cases/priorities
• Ability to travel as required

Additional Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace software
• Specialized investigations training such as Reid or Wicklander-Zulawski preferred
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM CP or SCP certification
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a high demand, fast-paced environment with diverse, geographically dispersed teams

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: Engage in standard office activities such as standing, sitting, and using computers for extended periods.
• Occasionally: Travel domestically up to 25% for investigations, team meetings, and training.
