About The Role

Optum is seeking a Provider Market Senior Account Executive to manage strategic relationships with key Provider clients. This role focuses on delivering growth and value in healthcare services, driving collaboration across multiple teams, and contributing to market P&L performance. The Senior Account Executive will lead and influence cross-functional teams to meet client objectives and ensure the successful delivery of Provider solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationships with key Provider clients to understand business needs and strategies
  • Lead internal teams to develop solutions that enhance client outcomes and Optum’s impact
  • Present the value of Optum solutions to client executives, decision makers, and key influencers
  • Ensure service and delivery commitments are met, resolving performance issues as necessary
  • Negotiate contract renewals, performance guarantees, and statements of work
  • Drive revenue growth through contract renewals and upsell opportunities
  • Analyze client savings and performance against service level agreements
  • Update CRM system with accurate client and opportunity data
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain high client satisfaction and Net Promoter Scores (NPS)
  • Influence external clients at the VP & C-suite level as a trusted advisor

Skills And Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic leadership, consulting, or related roles in the healthcare industry
  • 5+ years of experience working with business leaders and stakeholders to drive outcomes
  • Proven success in building and evolving relationships with internal and external C-suite leaders
  • Strong track record of leading matrixed teams and driving client success
  • Expertise in the healthcare market, particularly in provider solutions
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time
  • Must reside in DC, NY, PA, NJ, OH, or MA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Optum Markets (Payers, Employers, Providers, Federal/State government, Emerging Markets)
  • Experience working across Optum and UHG businesses
  • Experience with clinical leaders and product/technology teams
  • Prior P&L ownership
  • Proven application of change management methodologies
  • Strong strategic planning, analytics, and problem-solving skills

  • Salary range: $90,000 – $195,000 annually, based on experience and location
