Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a Manager of Supplier Quality Engineering to lead a team focused on improving BU supplier performance. You’ll drive scorecards, corrective actions, and supplier audits in alignment with Global Supply Chain initiatives.

Responsibilities include developing foundational supplier quality systems, ensuring AS9100D/AS9102/AS9145 compliance, and mentoring SQEs while partnering with site leadership and customers on critical quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years in Supplier Quality or related roles.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of AS9100D, AS9102, and AS9145.
• Strong root-cause and corrective-action skills (8D, 5-Why, fishbone).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influence across groups.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day performance and development of a SQE team.
• Own BU supplier quality performance: scorecards, escalations, containment, corrective actions.
• Enforce defined performance and quality expectations; escalate when needed.
• Partner with BU leadership to drive supplier performance improvements.
• Establish or mature supplier quality systems and processes in sites.
• Collaborate with Global Supply Chain on cross-BU initiatives.
• Review and approve 8D/SCAR responses for adequacy.
• Oversee supplier audits and AS9100D site inspections, track findings to closure.
• Ensure AS9102 and AS9145 requirements for new part introductions.
• Escalate systemic issues to BU Director of Quality and SQM Director.
• Coach SQEs on technical proficiency and communication.
• Provide input on supplier selection and requalification decisions.
• Perform other duties as needed.
