Job summary

The AES Corporation is recruiting a co-op engineer for Spring 2027 on the AES Ohio Relay/Protection and Control Engineering team. The role offers practical experience in protection and control of electrical power systems while collaborating with experienced staff engineers.

Qualified candidates are pursuing a four-year Electrical or Computer Engineering degree, preferably with Sophomore standing or higher, and have strong attention to detail and Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Sophomore or higher preferred; strong academics, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff engineers with electrical calculations, coordination studies, short-circuit studies, and relay logic design to develop protective relaying settings.
• Help produce detailed engineering documents in line with AES Ohio and industry standards (IEEE, NERC).
• Complete additional assignments as determined by the supervisor.
