Job summary

AES Corporation invites engineering students to join the AES Ohio Relay/Protection and Control Engineering team for Summer 2027 as a co-op engineer. The role provides practical experience in protection and control of electrical power systems on real-world projects.

You'll work with staff engineers on calculations, coordination studies, short circuit studies, and relay logic design, while developing engineering documentation and meeting AES Ohio standards.

Qualifications

• A student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Sophomore or higher preferred.
• Strong academic background with attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with staff engineers on electrical calculations, coordination studies, short-circuit studies, and relay logic design to develop protective relaying settings.
• Assist in producing detailed engineering documentation per AES Ohio standards.
• Complete additional assignments as determined by their supervisor.
