Job summary

AES Ohio Relay/Protection and Control Engineering team offers a co-op engineer opportunity for Spring 2027. You will assist staff engineers with electrical calculations, coordination and short-circuit studies, and design relay logic to set protective relays for AES Ohio’s transmission and distribution system.

Seeking electrical or computer engineering students, Sophomore or higher, with strong academics and detail orientation. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.

Qualifications

• A student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Sophomore or higher is preferred; strong academic background and attention to detail encouraged.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside staff engineers to perform electrical calculations and coordination studies.
• Assist in short circuit studies and design relay logic to develop protective relay settings.
• Contribute to engineering documentation and compliance with IEEE/NERC standards.
