Job description

80Twenty is a boutique marketing recruitment agency that connects high-growth companies with exceptional candidates.

Midtown Manhattan | On-site Mon–Thu, remote Fri | Reports to VP of Sales

Our client is a private community of thousands of venture-backed founders, VCs, and family offices, built on relationships and trust. It was founded by a serial entrepreneur as a support network for founders, and members come together in intimate, high-touch settings to share ideas, close deals, and form lasting partnerships. The calendar is anchored by a flagship annual summit held at a private Hamptons estate, complemented by monthly dinners, cocktail mixers, breakfasts, and special programming in NYC, SF, LA, and beyond. The company has grown largely through referrals and word of mouth. Think a trusted brand, a highly engaged audience, and sponsors who want real access to the people in the room, not just logo placement.

About the Role

The company is looking for a senior seller to drive six-figure sponsorship and partnership revenue, working directly with the VP of Sales and Chief Commercial Officer. You'll own a portfolio of top-tier prospects end to end, from first conversation through signed deal, activation, and renewal. This is an ownership role, not a support role: a Partnerships Manager, a Sales & Ops Director, and marketing, operations, and concierge teams are already in place to deliver on commitments, so your time goes to strategy, relationships, and closing. The best deals here aren't sold off a rate card. They're designed around what each sponsor needs from this audience and woven into a curated calendar of events, and you'll be the one designing them.

Responsibilities
  • Drive high-value sponsorship revenue. Own a portfolio of top-tier prospects and close six-figure+ partnerships, leveraging your own network while opening new channels of opportunity.
  • Shape partnership strategy. Work with the VP of Sales to refine annual sponsorship strategy, packaging, and pricing, bringing back what you learn from the market.
  • Design bespoke activations. Create custom sponsor experiences that fit naturally into the event calendar and deliver on each partner's goals, whether that's executive access, brand positioning, or deal flow.
  • Build senior relationships. Develop and nurture relationships with CMOs, Directors of Partnerships, and other commercial decision-makers.
  • Be the face of the partnership. Represent the company at high-profile events, dinners, and industry gatherings, building trust with sponsors and members alike.
  • Deliver sponsor ROI. Work in tandem with the Partnerships Manager on deal flow, and with marketing, operations, and concierge teams to make sure every sponsor gets what they were promised and wants to come back.
Qualifications
  • At least 3–5 years selling sponsorships, partnerships, or business development in the conference or events business
  • A proven record of closing six-figure+ sponsorships or partnerships, and the ability to explain how you built and won them
  • A strong network in finance, tech, or adjacent sectors that you can activate from day one
  • Experience tailoring custom packages that work for both sides, rather than selling standard tiers
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, with the executive presence to sell to senior buyers
  • A self-starter who thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment and can manage a pipeline independently
  • Able to work in-office in Midtown Monday through Thursday, with evening events as needed
Bonus Points
  • Experience in the venture or startup ecosystem, or in financial services
  • Existing relationships with brand, marketing, or partnerships leaders who buy sponsorships
  • Experience selling into a private, membership, or invitation-only community
  • Experience helping build a sponsorship program at an early-stage company
What's In It For You

The chance to own sponsorship revenue at a fast-growing company with a trusted brand, an exceptional audience, and a direct line between your work and revenue growth. You'll operate at the center of the venture and private markets ecosystem, building relationships with global brands, top founders, and notable investors, with direct access to the VP of Sales and Chief Commercial Officer and real influence over how partnerships are designed and sold. Compensation includes a base salary plus commission and comprehensive benefits.
