Turner Construction Company is seeking a hands-on Superintendent to lead Self-Perform Operations on SPO projects in Austin. You will supervise trades, coordinate schedules, and implement safety and quality programs in collaboration with the EH&S team.

The role requires deep knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and cost control, plus strong leadership and communication skills. Travel may be required on project sites across the region.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience managing self-perform work or equivalent.
• In-depth technical knowledge of self-perform work and related tools and equipment
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, subcontract documents, drawings and specs
• Able to anticipate and communicate issues/risks to non-technical audiences
• Knowledge of continuous improvement concepts, principles, and methodologies
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, scopes of work, and project schedule
• In-depth knowledge of EH&S practices
• Proficient project management and ability to prioritize demands
• Leadership skills to build stakeholder relationships
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office
• Travel may be required

Responsabilités

• Plan, forecast, lead, direct, and coordinate SPO staff, subcontractors, and suppliers on SPO projects.
• Develop and implement jobsite safety program with EH&S to support compliance with standards.
• Develop JHAs with Forepersons for daily pre-task planning.
• Supervise Trade labor and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Sequence work to meet project schedule and integrate SPO activities into main schedule.
• Develop SPO work schedules and monitor progress weekly.
• Establish production requirements with Trades Forepersons and adjust staffing to boost production.
• Monitor progress, quantities, and completion percentages for SPO tasks.
• Manage hiring/termination decisions related to Trade labor and communicate with leadership.
• Oversee material deliveries and procurement aligned with the project schedule.
• Develop labor sourcing relationships to fulfill staffing needs.
• Resolve field issues with project leaders and stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship to forepersons and support career progression.
• Validate monthly estimates, payroll, invoices, and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure installation complies with contract documents and quality standards.
• Assist with bidding and constructability reviews.
