Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a Childcare Assistant to support Pre-K/Preschool classrooms and the Childcare Specialist in before and after school programs. The role includes classroom operation, activity planning, and staff supervision at an on-site site in Arizona.

The position requires compliance with Arizona Department of Health Services rules, a High School Diploma or GED, and valid child care credentials; candidates should have strong communication skills and be at least 21

Qualifications

Must meet staff qualifications to be a Facility Directors designee; applicants must be at least 21 years old and provide documentation of qualifying childcare experience and education.
High school diploma or GED required with 12 months of childcare experience and 3 college credits in early childhood or related field, or 30 hours of training in early childhood or related field.
Licensing requirements include DPS fingerprint clearance, and various credential options as listed.

Responsibilities

Assist Pre-K/Preschool teacher with daily classroom operations.
Support on-site operations including planning activities and supervising Kids Club and Early Bird staff and children.
Ensure compliance with Arizona health and safety rules and regulations.
Maintain rapport with students, staff, and the community; inform supervisor of activities.
Order supplies and maintain site equipment inventory.
Maintain behavior standards per district and program policies.
Complete at least 18 training hours annually per health service regulations.
