Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District invites applicants for a Childcare Specialist to support the before- and after-school program and supervise staff and children on site.

Responsibilities include activity planning, staff supervision, and ensuring safety in line with Arizona Department of Health Services rules. The role is a split-shift, non-exempt position requiring training hours and licensing compliance.

Qualifications

• Must meet the staff qualifications to be a Facility Director per AZ Administrative Code R9-5-401.
• Alternative credentials per AZ code are acceptable.
• Evidence of high school diploma or GED must be provided.
• College transcripts and/or diploma must be provided if applicable.
• Requires negative TB test, immunization, and DPS fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with students, employees and community.
• Plan activities, supervise staff and children, and maintain compliance with AZ Health Services rules.
• Keep the Child Care Coordinator informed of staff and student activities.
• Order supplies and maintain site inventory for program activities.
• Maintain behavior standards and alignment with district policy.
• Cultivate relationships with host school staff.
• Assist with site record keeping and training hours.
• Cover duties including Early Bird, Pre-K/Preschool and camps.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or GED + 24 months child care experience + 6 credit hours in early childhood

N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P. or C.P.C. credential + 18 months experience

24 college credits with 6 credits in early childhood + 18 months experience

Associate degree in early childhood + 6 months experience

Bachelor degree in early childhood + 3 months experience
