Job summary

Desert Canyon Elementary in Scottsdale is seeking a Childcare Assistant for Kids Club (full-time) with split shifts. You will assist the Pre-K/Preschool classroom teacher and the Childcare Specialist in planning and supervising the before and after school program.

The role requires 21+ years old, a high school diploma or GED, and relevant child care experience. Arizona licensing steps and DPS fingerprint clearance are part of the process; shifts run 6:45–8:45 AM and 1:15–6:15 PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of qualifying child care experience and related coursework.
• Valid DPS FPCC or equivalent credential as applicable.
• First aid and CPR certification preferred or obtainable within 30 days.
• Effective communication with students, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pre-K/Preschool teacher with daily classroom operations.
• Assist with on-site operations, plan activities and supervise Kids Club or Early Bird.
• Maintain compliance with Arizona health services rules.
• Establish rapport with students, staff and community.
• Keep staff informed of activities and assist with record keeping.
• Maintain site equipment inventory and order supplies.
• Ensure behavior aligns with district and program policies.
• Complete a minimum of 18 training hours annually per regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
