Job summary

Roscoe Care Center in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with communication and swallowing disorders, improving their quality of life and functional abilities in a skilled nursing setting.

You will perform assessments, develop individualized plans, provide articulation, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing therapies, document progress, and educate residents and families.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of California.
  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience, preferably skilled nursing.
  • Knowledge of current speech therapy practice standards and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents' communication and swallowing abilities using standardized assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, resident goals, and physician orders
  • Provide skilled speech therapy interventions, including articulation and language therapy, cognitive-communication therapy, and swallowing therapy
  • Monitor and document resident progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Communicate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes for residents
  • Educate residents and family members on speech therapy goals, treatment plans, and home exercise programs
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of speech therapy services provided
  • Participate in team meetings, in-service education, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain current knowledge of speech therapy practice and relevant regulations

Job description

We are seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at a skilled nursing facility. Qualifications:

Current license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of employment

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Proficient in using electronic medical records and other healthcare software
