Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients.

Responsibilities

• Collects case history information and integrates information from patients, family, caregivers, teachers, relevant others, and other professionals.
• Conducts assessment procedures for speech and language pathology and selects or develops appropriate materials and instrumentation.
• Develops and implements a setting appropriate plan of care with measurable and achievable goals in collaboration with patients and relevant others.
• Interprets, integrates, and synthesizes information to develop a treatment plan and recommendations for intervention.
• Evaluates patients with speech and feeding impairments; administers standardized testing to assess function.
• Completes daily documentation and EMR entries; participates in clinical ladder activities and supervision of students.
