Job summary

PACS seeks a Staff Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents, communicate with families and physicians, and maintain documentation in records. The role includes in- services, training for facility staff, and collaboration with the health team to support resident goals.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Speech-Language Pathology (Masters or Doctorate preferred), proficiency with Net Health and Point Click Care, and strong communication and documentation skills to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Master’s or Doctorate preferred).
• Proficient with Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information to managers, coworkers, and families.
• Mathematical skills to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs per physician orders and facility policies.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
• Supervise Speech-Language Pathologist CFY or students in resident care and related activities.
• Communicate progress with physicians, nursing staff, and families; participate in care conferences and rehab meetings.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff as needed.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with facility and payer requirements.
