Job summary

Tri-County Health Care is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver home-based therapies for pediatric feeding and swallowing. You will work with patients and families in their homes, following a patient-specific plan of care and collaborating with the healthcare team.

The role emphasizes feeding/swallowing assessments, individualized feeding therapy, and ongoing education for families, with a flexible part-time schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Active Texas state license as a speech-language pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (CCC-SLP).
  • Proof of current CPR certification.
  • Driver’s license and car insurance required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled speech-language pathology services in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and progress.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing skills.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on therapy activities and home programs.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed.
  • Accurately document evaluations, interventions, progress, and other services.
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians, caregivers, SLPAs, and the healthcare team.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to SLPAs in accordance with regulations.
  • Participate in continuing education and comply with payer requirements.
  • Evaluate children with feeding, swallowing, and oral-motor difficulties.
  • Complete comprehensive feeding and swallowing assessments.
  • Identify concerns related to chewing, swallowing, oral-motor skills, and feeding behaviors.
  • Provide individualized feeding therapy to improve safe and functional eating skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled speech-language pathology services in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities as appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and progress.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing skills.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on therapy activities, home programs, safety, and strategies that promote communication and independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and response to treatment and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Accurately document evaluations, interventions, progress, and other services provided.
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians, caregivers, SLPAs, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to SLPAs in accordance with applicable regulations and professional standards.
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain compliance with applicable regulations and payer requirements.
  • Evaluate children with feeding, swallowing, and oral-motor difficulties.
  • Complete comprehensive feeding and swallowing assessments.
  • Identify concerns related to chewing, swallowing, oral-motor skills, food textures, and feeding behaviors.
  • Provide individualized feeding therapy to improve safe and functional eating skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
