Job summary

Tri-County Healthcare is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide services in pediatric feeding and swallowing within a home health setting in Harlingen, TX. The role involves evaluating and treating communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders per individualized plans of care.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, creating adaptive treatment plans, educating families, and collaborating with the health care team.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Active Texas state license as a speech-language pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (CCC-SLP).
  • Proof of current CPR certification.
  • Driver's license (required).
  • Car insurance (required).

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled speech-language pathology services in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities as appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and progress.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing skills.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on therapy activities and home programs.
  • Monitor patient progress and response to treatment and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Accurately document evaluations, interventions, progress, and other services provided.
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians, caregivers, SLPAs, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to SLPAs in accordance with applicable regulations and professional standards.
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain compliance with applicable regulations and payer requirements.
  • Evaluate children with feeding, swallowing, and oral-motor difficulties.
  • Complete comprehensive feeding and swallowing assessments.
  • Identify concerns related to chewing, swallowing, oral-motor skills, food textures, and feeding behaviors.
  • Provide individualized feeding therapy to improve safe and functional eating skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled speech-language pathology services in accordance with the patient's plan of care.

Qualifications:
