Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages. The role supports staff and students and offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, developing care plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize communication and swallowing outcomes. Licensure in Illinois, BLS certification, and ongoing stroke-care CEUs are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Illinois (IDFPR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days (AHA).
• Complete required continuing education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Collects case history information and integrates data from patient, family, and other professionals; selects evaluation procedures and considers language, culture, and communication needs.
• Conducts speech-language pathology assessments; selects/develops materials and instrumentation for prevention and intervention.
• Develops and implements a measurable plan of care and collaborates with patient and caregivers.
• Interprets and synthesizes information to develop a treatment plan and recommendations.
• Evaluates patients with speech and feeding impairments; administers standardized testing; assesses feeding and swallowing impairments.
• Educates patients and caregivers on home programs; coordinates with pediatric PT/OT; completes daily documentation in the EMR.
• Fulfills annual requirements for senior status per the therapy clinical ladder; may supervise students and complete projects.
